So you’ve created your own store with BuyItLive. Welcome to the team! We’re excited to see what BuyItLive can do for you and your business. Our platform is widely known for increasing checkout conversion rates and decreasing the amount of time you have to spend on getting orders out. Successful social selling starts here.
Seller’s Checklist
Before you can create your first sale using BuyItLive, there are a few things you need to set up. At minimum, you need to follow the steps you see on your BuyItLive home page before our system allows you to create a sale.
Add Your Store’s Details
Store Info
Enter your store information to make your store more identifiable. These are important settings that will help your customers get into contact with you when they need help. You can’t create a sale until you’ve entered a support email that your paying customers can use to contact you.
Tax Rates
Before you start selling, you’ll also want to set a tax rate and state. We default the tax rate to $0.00, so make sure to edit this if you want to charge your customers tax. You will also decide whether or not you want to charge the same rate across all states.
For BuyItLive Starter, the tax rate settings are in the “Settings” tab under “Cart.” For Professional, click on the “Taxes” tab. You can learn how to customize taxes in our article on BuyItLive Professional: Tax Settings.
Shipping
You won’t want any orders coming through until you’ve set up how you want to charge shipping for your store. We have a variety of shipping settings, including integrations with ShipStation and 3PL Central. Read our article on Shipping to learn more about your options.
Add Your Products
There are a few different ways you can add products to your inventory, 3 to be exact:

Add Your Social Accounts
As BuyItLive IS a social selling service, it’s important to connect your social accounts. Remember, you can’t sell on a personal Facebook page so you need to connect a business page or group. You can learn more about the process in this article.
Add Payment Provider
We offer Stripe, PayPal, Square, and Sezzle to process credit card transactions. You can connect one or more of these to your BuyItLive store. Square and Sezzle are only available to BuyItLive Professional sellers.
If you decide to integrate your BuyItLive store with Shopify to sync inventory, you’ll be required to use Shopify Checkout. All payment will go through your payment provider set up on Shopify.

Once you’ve completed all of these steps, you have done the minimum work needed to create a sale.
