BuyItLive offers a variety of payment options for your customers so everyone can check out with confidence. For sellers signed up for BuyItLive Professional, Sezzle is one of those options and provides a simple, risk-free way to “buy now and pay later” for your shoppers.
As mentioned above, Sezzle is only available for stores signed up for BuyItLive Professional. BuyItLive Starter users can connect with Stripe and/or PayPal as payment options.
What is Sezzle?
Sezzle is a payment processing system that lets your customers pay for their orders a little bit at a time rather than all at once. 25% of the order total is due at the point of purchase, after which payment installations will be charged until the order total is met over the course of at least 6 weeks (each payment is 2 weeks apart). As long as they’re paid on time, these payments will not include any hidden interest or processing fees.
How Does it Work?
When it comes time to check out, a customer can select to use Sezzle. They will sign up for a free Sezzle account and enter their card info, then proceed to checkout. Their card will instantly be charged 25% of the order total, and then their order will be sent to your Orders tab like normal. Once you see their order in that tab, you can then ship/fulfill it.
From there, the customer will be charged payment installations every two weeks to pay off their order, typically another 25% each time. Sezzle saves their card info and automatically charges the amount for each payment when it is due, so no further steps are required from the customer. If they decide they want to pay off their order early, they can do so by signing in to Sezzle and selecting the option from there.
If a customer wants to change the card connected to Sezzle, they can do so at any time by logging into their Sezzle account and updating their payment information.
