Purchasing From a BuyItLive Sale

How do I add items to my cart?

You can add an item to your cart by commenting a command and the product code in the comment section of the sale post. For example, you could comment “buy coolshirt”. “Buy” is the command and “coolshirt” is the product code. The product codes will be given to you by the seller.

The second way you can add items to you cart is by clicking on the sale link and claiming items from within your cart.

If commenting to buy doesn’t work, you’ve either commented incorrectly (or you’ve commented a code that doesn’t exist), you aren’t registered for a sale posted in a Facebook Group, or the seller has incorrectly set up the sale and it hasn’t connected properly. Check out this article to learn how to comment correctly or contact the seller and let them know your comments aren’t working so they can fix the issue.

Why can't I remove items from my cart?

If you’re unable to remove claimed items from your cart, the store you’re shopping from has chosen to lock carts. The seller enables this option in their store settings. In order to remove an item from your cart, you will need to contact the seller.

Why do I have to log in with Facebook?

We want your experience to be as smooth and simple as possible. By connecting your Facebook with BuyItLive, we reduce the number of steps required for you to check out. Think of it as connecting who you are with what you want. We save you time by automatically creating your profile and loading your cart. You want it? You’ve got it! (Well, you do have to pay for it).

How do I get to my cart?

You can access your cart by clicking on the sale link in the post description or by asking the seller for their store’s generic cart link. All shoppers use the same link to get to their cart, but you will only see your cart because it’s connected to your Facebook or Google account. If you can’t find the sale link, reach out to the seller and they can send it to you.

Note

If you enter your cart but none of your items are there, something may be wrong.

Do you store my credit card information?

Nope! We tokenize your card information and pass it securely along to whichever payment processing system the store you’re shopping from uses. You can view your saved cards on your BuyItLive profile.

How do I change my credit card?

You can remove a credit card or set a previously added card to be your primary card under your BuyItLive Profile. If you want to add a new card, you can add it from within your cart at checkout. The option appears below the spaces where you last entered your card info.

Can I shop after the video is no longer live?

Yes! You can shop until the seller decides to turn off the sale from within BuyItLive. Simply comment on the post to add a product to your cart or click on the sale link to add products from within your cart.

I'm ready to pay but didn't get to select shipping, what do I do?

This problem is rare, but if it’s happening to you, simply click the link on the top right where it says “change shipping.”
If this option isn’t appearing, click your profile on the top right screen and log out of BuyItLive. Next, click on the link from the sale you’re shopping and go to check out. You should be able to pick your shipping and even click “change shipping” once you get back to your cart.

Note

If you’re being given free shipping, the seller must have a setting turned on that allows for it. If you feel this is a mistake, you can contact the seller.

Can I pay using cash?

If the seller allows it, then yes you can. You’ll need to contact the seller directly if you’re wanting to pay in cash so they can mark your cart as a cash order. Only certain stores have this option.

Post-Purchase

How do I check the status of my order?

All orders you make are listed on your profile. They will state whether your item has been shipped, is ready for pickup, or is available for download. Click on the order ID to view all the details of your order including package tracking if it was included by the seller. If it is a digital product, click the green cloud button on the order detail page to download your purchase.

How do refunds work?

Sellers are responsible for all refunds. They may have a refund policy listed on the page when you are in your cart. Sellers can issue full refunds or partial refunds, including refunds in the form of in-store credit. If a refund occurs, you will receive a confirmation email from BuyItLive. Contact us if you have an issue with a seller, and we can help resolve it. You can also leave a review for a seller on your purchase order receipt.

Something’s Not Working

I think I did something wrong. How does this work?

The seller shares items from their inventory along with the associated code. For example, the seller applies a shimmering lip gloss, then lets you in on the code: plumfairy. You’ve gotta have that lip gloss, so you comment, ‘buy plumfairy.’ Did you like the nail polish and blush too? Go ahead and buy all three in one comment! Like this: ‘buy plumfairy, juniper, sparkleberry.’ After you’ve commented on what you want to buy, click the link in the description. It will take you to your cart to check out. It’s that easy! No more searching for the product on the seller’s website after the live video!

I commented on a post, but my cart is still empty. Why?

There are a number of reasons why your shopping cart could be empty. To see those reasons, click here.

Why can't I check out?

If hitting the checkout button doesn’t work for you, it may be because you have a product in your cart that has variants attached (sizes, colors, etc.). You’ll need to select which variant you want before you can finish checking out.

It could also be happening because of an error the seller has in their store. Contact the seller if you’re unable to checkout so they can fix the issue on their end.

Why is the PayPal button not working?

If you’re trying to check out and the PayPal button isn’t redirecting you to PayPal, this most likely means the seller you’re shopping from incorrectly entered their PayPal credentials. Let the seller know so they can correct it. You won’t be able to check out using PayPal until they fix the problem, so if you want to checkout now you’ll need to use a different checkout option.

It’s also possible that the address you have listed on your account is incorrect. You can double check your address by visiting your BuyItLive profile. Click on your profile photo in the top right corner of any BuyItLive page to visit your profile and edit information.

I can't find a sale, but I know it used to be there...

Sellers can delete their sales on BuyItLive or their videos from Facebook anytime. If they do so, we lose that sale and sale information. HOWEVER, if you have purchased from an old sale we always store that information and it will be listed in your profile. Just log in with Facebook.

Can anyone create a store?

Absolutely! As long as you have a Facebook page, you can create a store and begin selling.

Can I be a seller & a shopper?

Absolutely!

Can I refer stores to BuyItLive?

Yes! You can sign up as a BuyItLive Associate even without having a store of your own. Once you’re an Associate, you’ll have a unique referral link that you can send to friends or business owners you know.     1. Hi Linda! You can add other items to your cart by following the sellers sale link or entering their store on BuyItLive. The feature to combine shipping over multiple orders is available for all of our sellers, however some haven’t activated it on their store. If a seller has it activated you can checkout multiple times and (as long as your first order hasn’t shipped) you’ll be charged just once for shipping. If they haven’t activated this feature, we invite you to contact the seller’s support directly with your request!

  2. How do I purchase when my shipping is not the same address as my billing??

    1. Hey Yvonne! There should be an option to “Create a New Address” underneath the prompt to “CONTINUE TO PAYMENT” from your cart.

    1. Hi Joanna, you can view your cart by clicking on the sale link included in the post you were commenting on. If you still need help, you can message us via Facebook messenger during our open hours.

    1. Hi Nancy, you’ll need to contact the seller directly with questions about your order.

  6. I want to remove a few items from my cart. When I attempt to, I am promoted to contact the store. Please advise.

    1. Hi Jen, if you’re unable to remove items from your cart, that means the seller has turned on our cart lock feature. Per the seller’s request, you’re required to contact them if you want to have something removed.

  7. Is there a way to make purchases without signing up through Facebook? Not interested is signing up for this. Any suggestions?

    1. Hi Lori, guest checkout doesn’t require logging in through Facebook but it is only an option if the store you’re shopping from enables it. Just so you know, logging in through Facebook does not compromise your privacy in any way, it is only needed to connect your Facebook comments to your shopping cart and ensure you can find your cart at any time.
