Selling on Facebook using our system is going to work wonders for you. Before you can start selling with BuyItLive, you must connect a Facebook page or group to your BuyItLive account. Let’s jump right in on how to connect.
If you’ve already connected your Facebook Page or Group and are receiving an error message, try reading our “Invalid Connection” article to detect the problem.
Social Settings
You’re invited to “Connect Social Accounts as Selling Channels” under your BuyItLive store “Social Settings.” Your Facebook profile will already be connected to BuyItLive if you created your store by signing in with Facebook, so from here you only need to connect business pages and/or groups.
Select whether to add a Facebook Page or a Facebook Group:
In order to create a sale using BuyItLive, you need to connect either a Facebook business page or group. You cannot post a sale on your personal profile.
Add a Facebook Page
If you choose to add a Facebook Business Page, you’ll be directed to pick which of your Facebook pages to connect from a drop-down menu as pictured:
Simply select the page you want to add and hit “Next.” You should receive a “Page Recorded” message as you’re re-directed to your store’s Social Settings. If your page has been successfully added it will now appear in your list of “Facebook Pages & Groups.”
Add a Facebook Group
When adding a Facebook Group be careful to review these points.
Oh, and one more thing. You MUST be the admin of the group when you add it to BuyItLive. If someone other than the admin adds your group, it won’t connect properly when it comes time to post a sale.
Now you should be ready to add your group and can select “Got It, Now Add My Group!” You’ll land on this page with two more reminders and a search bar to help you find your group.

Search for and select your group.
You’ll be re-directed to your store’s Social Settings. If your group has been successfully added it will now appear in your list of “Facebook Pages & Groups.”
If your group does not show up in the drop-down list, you’ll need to check 3 things:
- Make sure you are the admin of the group
- Make sure the Facebook account that is the admin of the group is also the manager of your BuyItLive store
- Make sure you successfully added the BuyItLive app to your group using the instruction given above and then hit SAVE
- Make sure you’ve given BuyItLive ALL Facebook permissions. In order to undo any restraints and re-add BuyItLive to your Facebook permissions, follow the instructions given in this article.
Add Linked Page
Under your Social Settings you can “Remove” any page or group and “Add a Linked Page” to your group.
If you plan to post sales in your Facebook Group, you’re required to add a linked page. Comment sales won’t work in Facebook Groups until you’ve added a linked page here in your Social Settings.
When connecting a Facebook Page, you’ll see a drop-down of your Facebook Pages and select the page you want to Link. This page should also be connected to your Group within Facebook.
You will again be directed back to your store’s “Social Settings” once your page has been successfully linked to your group. The linked page will now appear in your list of “Facebook Pages & Groups” next to the group you’ve linked it to.
When you link your page through BuyItLive, Facebook updates to reflect your action, but you can edit your linked pages anytime under your Facebook Group Settings.
