Live Sales vs. Wall Drop Sales

What’s the difference between a live sale and a wall drop sale? Here we’ll answer that question along with what makes each an effective form of selling. If you haven’t already, be sure you’ve connected your social pages to your BuyItLive account.

Live Sales

A live sale refers to using live videos to showcase and sell products. Live videos are effective selling channels because they heighten engagement in multiple ways. We’ll explain how you can best use live videos on Facebook to strengthen your selling.

Facebook

Facebook promotes posts that spark engagement, which means moving posts will be seen by more people than stationary posts. Moving posts refer to live videos, uploaded videos, and even animated gifs. Live videos are preferred by Facebook because they prompt a kind of excitement that’s difficult to replicate using static posts. Viewers who are part of a live video feel like they’re “living in the moment.” When they love it, Facebook does too!

As Facebook users like, share, and comment on your video, it will be boosted to appear on the timelines of more people. Facebook will also promote your video post as a pop-up to any of your followers who are active while the video is live.

Wall Drop Sales

Wall drop sales are sale posts with images instead of live videos. Many of our stores create a wall drop sale when they have one item they want to showcase. We emphasize that they do not promote engagement like live videos do, however they are easier to set up and prepare for and can be effective when supplemented by live sales.

How customers buy your products works the same way in a wall drop sale as it does in a live sale. If using comment shopping, customers will comment a command (ex: “buy”) followed by a space and the item code. A timer to checkout will begin as soon as someone enters their cart.

Managing Your Sales

To disable a sale, live or wall drop, scroll to “Your Sales” on your BuyItLive “Home” page and switch the toggle from “on” to “off.” You do not need to delete your post on Facebook or Instagram in order to end a sale. However, we recommend you inform your customers when the last day of your sale will be to avoid confusion.
