Customers Tab

Keeping in touch with your customers is an important part of being a business owner. As you analyze the list of people who’ve participated in your sales, you’ll be better equipped to tailor to their personalities and tendencies. Your Customers tab is something you can access from the home page on BuyItLive.

Customer Types

Within your Customers tab, you’ll be able to see lists of four different types of customers. Here are the types and their respective descriptions:

  • Paying: This list shows everyone who has ever made a purchase from your BuyItLive store.
  • Non-Converting: These are people who have participated in a sale by adding products to their carts but never made a purchase.
  • All Customers: Pretty self-explanatory, just a list of everyone who’s ever shopped from your store. Pre-registering will not add people to your customers list.
  • Opted In: If you want to notify all your customers when you create a new sale, these are the customers who’ll receive those emails. This list includes customers who’ve opted in to receiving email updates from your store. Customers can opt-in from their cart, profile, or pre-registration page if they choose to.

Within any of these lists, you’ll be able to see the name of the customer, their email, their location, how many orders they’ve placed with you, and the total amount of money they’ve spent in your BuyItLive store.

Note

Customers who participated in a sale using Guest Checkout are still listed, but only with the information they decided to enter. They won’t have a profile photo and may not have an email if they chose not to provide it.

Clicking on the name of a particular customer also allows you to see the order ID, purchase date, shipped date, and total amount for each order the customer has ever placed.

Crediting Customers

At the top of the picture above you can see that the customer has a $5.00 credit. This is because the store owner decided to issue them a credit, which is a little different from a refund. You can refund a customer by finding their order on your Orders page and issuing them in-store credit rather than giving them their money back. On your Customers tab, you can issue a credit as a gift to a loyal customer, as a reward for winning a giveaway, or as compensation for a past problem.

To issue a credit, simply find the customer in your Customers list and click “Edit” next to their current credit amount. Enter the amount you want to give and then hit “Save.” This credit can only be used within your BuyItLive sales, so be sure customers are aware when they’re awarded!
