Connecting to ShipStation

ShipStation is a third-party shipping company that you can use to print shipping labels for your BuyItLive orders. Each time an order is placed in BuyItLive, the order information will automatically be sent to your ShipStation account. After that, you can manage your shipping preferences and print labels. Using ShipStation isn’t required.

How to Connect Your ShipStation Account

Once you’ve created an account with ShipStation, you can connect it to your BuyItLive store from within your Shipping Settings. Scroll to the bottom and you’ll see this interface:

You can obtain your ShipStation Key and Secret from the ShipStation website. Log in to your ShipStation account by clicking on “get your details” as seen above.

After logging in, you’ll obtain your Key and Secret from the API Settings page. Navigate to the menu bar on the left hand side of the page and click on “Account.” When the drop-down appears, click on “API Settings.”

Underneath “API Keys”, you’ll see a green button to generate your API Keys if you never have before. Click on that button. It will generate your ShipStation Key and Secret.

Copy the API Key and paste it back in BuyItLive, then do the same for your API Secret.

Warning

Once you’ve pasted your Key and Secret into BuyItLive, don’t click on the green button to “Regenerate API Keys.” If you do so, you’ll need to copy and paste your newly generated Key and Secret back into BuyItLive again.

You’ll also need to enter the Zip Code you’ll be shipping your packages from in the “From Zip” section.

Creating a Webhook

After you’ve connected your ShipStation account to BuyItLive using the steps above, you’ll want to add the BuyItLive webhook to ShipStation. Follow these steps to add Webhooks to ShipStation. Use “Order Shipped” as the webhook name and “https://hooks.buyitlive.co/hooks/shipstation/shipped/926013876” as the webhook link.
